This 5-week course is an adaptation of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme and is informed by many Eastern traditions including Chan and Tibetan Buddhism. The course teaches various awareness strategies: mindfulness of breath, body awareness (including body in movement), energy practices and accessing the observing self.
The 5-week programme enables participants to become more familiar with the workings of the mind whilst paying attention to objects of awareness intentionally. For most participants follow-up sessions are essential in maintaining gains made during the 5 weeks.
Email mbetcentre@gmail.com for additional information.
The course takes the form of five weekly 3 hours practice sessions. Pre-workshop media (including a set of handouts and links) will be emailed to participants in order that they are well equipped for the forthcoming practices.
Outside of the weekly sessions, students are required to engage in formal practice for a minimum of 1 hour each day. In addition, informal practice involving moment to moment monitoring of internal and external happenings is required. This commitment is necessary and gives participants the best chance of enhancing well-being in daily life.
Participants receive additional support tailored to their specific needs.
Participants share experiences (if they so wish) with the facilitator and participants at the end of each session (or via email), so that they may be supported and guided in their mindfulness training.
A CPD certificate will be issued to participants who complete the course.
